Nostalgia in Blue unveiled in Canberra
On Mar 29, the opening ceremony of Nostalgia in Blue, a touring exhibition of Chinese traditional Dyeing art was held in Civic Library in Canberra as its first leg. The exhibition is co-organized by the Chinese Embassy and Australia China Friendship Society ACT Branch. Minister Counselor Ke Yasha from Chinese Embassy attended and spoke at the ceremony. ACT Minister for Multicultural affairs Joy Burch also addressed the ceremony and formally opened the exhibition. The president of ACFS ACT Branch Carol Keil hosted the ceremony wearing a beautiful blue calico jacket , which fit the blue exihibits very well. A total of more than 80 guests from various circles of society in Canberra were present at this event.
As one part of the Chinese Culture Year in Australia, Nostalgia in Blue will tour 3 cities and towns in Australia from the end of March till November 2011 including Canberra, Redcliffe in QLD and Cockburn in WA. The period of the exhibition in Canberra will last till the end of Apr.
