Chinese Young Students Shine on the National Multicultural Festival in Canberra

On February 10 and 11, 48 students of the art group of the High School Affiliated to Renmin University of China (“RDFZ”) have performed martial arts and traditional dances on the Main Stage of the National Multicultural Festival (“the Festival”) in Canberra. The performances also consist part of the “Happy Spring Festival” celebrations of the year 2012 by the Ministry of Culture of China.

During their performances, the students presented their vibrant spirit and vigorous energy to the Australian audiences, bringing a fresh Chinese flavor to the Festival. The students performed martial arts “Sword of Shuzi” and “Rivalry”, traditional Chinese dance “Affection Lotus Flower” and dances of Chinese Minority Ethnic Groups Yi and Miao “Hua Yao”, “Climbing on the Hill” and “Torch Festival in July” to thousands of audiences at the Canberra Centre.

Feeling the young students’ passion and joy, enjoying their delicate performances, the audience applauded, laughed and whistled. When the shows were over, many audiences came to the officials of the Cultural Office of Chinese Embassy and the teachers of the art group to show their gratitude and appreciation of the students’shining performances.  The students, thrilled by the hospitality of the audiences, told the Minister Cousellor Mr. Ke Yasha they would like to come back later.
