Canberra, April 12. The visiting Director of the Chinese National Museum Mr. Lu Zhangsheng, and Director of National Museum of Australia Mr. Andrew Sayers signed a memorandum of understanding setting forth their collaboration in various fields between the two museums.

Mr. Lu introduced the newly renovated National Museum of China to his Australian counterpart, and pointed out that there is broad room for cooperation between the two museums since each has its own advantages in different fields. He expected the cooperation to be strengthened in the near future, adding that the cooperation should not be only localized on the MOU, the areas of cooperation should be expanded continuously. Mr. Sayers totally agreed with his Chinese counterpart and looked forward to visiting the National Museum of China for discussion about further cooperation.

Minister Councillor for culture of the Chinese Embassy Mr. Ke Yasha and DFAT Assistant Secretary Ms. Margaret Adamson witnessed the signing of the MOU.
