The last Emperor Presented at Canberra Theatre
On June 14, a Chinese original ballet drama The Last Emperor was staged at Canberra Theatre, attracting a total of nearly 1000 local people. Chinese Ambassador to Australia Chen Yuming and his wife Bai Xiaomei, Minister Counselor Xue Bing, Minister Counselor for Culture Ke Yasha watched the performance. Ambassador Chen greeted the artists after the show, congratulating them on their outstanding performance.
The Last Emperor is a joint production of Liaoning Ballet of China and a ballet agent in Stuttgart Germany, based on the ups and downs life story of the Last Emperor of China Pu Yi, is a European-oriented modern ballet with a unique Chinese flavor performed by Liaoning Ballet Group. The drama was premiered and warmly welcomed in Brisbane on June 9 and will tour Melbourne, Sydney, Newcastle after Canberra. Canberra is the second leg of the one-month long tour.
