Minister Counsellor Ke Yasha Met with the “Australian Youth Ambassadors for Development” Program Members before Their Departure for China
On 3 March, Minister Counsellor Ke Yasha met with the Australian Youth Ambassadors for Development (AYAD) Program members before their departure for China at the Chinese Embassy in Australia.

Minister Counsellor Ke noted that these young “ambassadors’” visit to China will not only help them push forwards with their research in specific field, but also enable them to have a clear picture of the great changes and achievements that China has experienced and made in the past thirty years. In this way, young “ambassadors” will actually contribute to the strengthening of mutual understanding between China and Australia.

The Australian Youth Ambassadors for Development (AYAD) Program aims to strengthen mutual understanding between Australia and the countries of Asia, the Pacific and Africa through making a positive contribution to development. The AYAD Program is fully funded by the Australian Government’s international development agency, AusAID.

These volunteers for China come from different backgrounds. Their specialties include HIV prevention, wildlife conservation and climate change research. They will work together with their counterparts in China with the expectation to score some achievements in related fields.
