He Bei Culture Week highlights the Year of Chinese Culture in Melbourne

May 31st, 2011, He Bei culture delegation, leading by Mr. Nie Chenxi, visited Melbourne and gave an opening performance in the City Town Hall of Melbourne. The Performance  includes Chinese contemporary acrobatics, Chinese traditional music and Wushu, which is part of the  He Bei Culture Week program. This cultural event aims at introducing He Bei to the local people, so as to promote mutual understanding and future cooperation in many areas between He Bei and Victoria.

Consul general Mr. Shi Weiqiang, together with Victoria Premire's representative, state member of Parliament, Mr. Telmo Languiller, and 100 distinguished guests from local cultural, business and education organizations, were invited to the opening reception. Around 1800 audiences attended the opening performance and many of them are local young people from universities and art colleges. Mr. Languiller highly praised the opening of He Bei Culture Week, and expressed his appreciation to Consulate General of PRC in Melbourne for its great efforts on introducing Chinese culture to people in Victoria.
