On January 31, Chinese Embassy held its 2nd “Day of China”. Julia Gillard, Prime Minister of Australia sent her message to the Embassy to express her wish to promote the cooperation and friendship between the two peoples.
Ambassador Chen Yuming expressed warm welcome and extended best New Year greetings to all the guests. “The second ‘Day of China’ is the Spring Festival prelude to the 40th anniversary of the opening of diplomatic relations between China and Australia…….“he says, “Let us take the 40th anniversary as an opportunity and work together to make China-Australia relations enjoy the good fortune of the Year of the Dragon and set out for the next 40 years.”
Students from Beijing showed the guests their calligraphy, paper cuttings and other traditional Chinese handcrafts.
